Staying the Course

ree

As we approach the month of February, this is the time of year where your teams get better or worse. All successful coaches will tell you at the start of the season, one of their main goals is to be the most connected team in their conference. Everyone involved in our program will be required to go strongly to the end. As difficult as it may be, you keep scratching and clawing to the end. All of this requires maximum effort and a positive attitude. Build your positivity from the inside out. Without the main focus being on winning, make sure we are locked into the process. This process includes nutrition, proper rest, film, weight room, conditioning, individual player development and mental health. The great players want an edge. They want to know if you can give them the juice. These are a few things that can be their separator.

Our job as a leader is to bring our people a meaningful message. The moment you step in they need to feel your presence. As we serve our young men and women, be humble and honest about the journey they are about to embark. As we go above and beyond for our brand, just let them know that this game will reward toughness, perseverance and a relentless work ethic. Regardless of where you are at this point in the season, whatever adversity you are going through it will pass and make your team stronger.
