Laying the Foundation

As I created a vision and philosophy, it was built on maximizing our players potential. My intentions were stated in the boldest way I could think of. My goal was simple, do things better than it has ever been done before (anything involved with coaching). First press conference, message was “talk is cheap and we have to get to work.” We will set the tone for future success by playing hard and competing every day. We will be good, when we are good. My goal is to win right NOW! From “Win Forever” by Pete Carroll Effort (Heavy in the Game) I was heavy in the game. There wasn’t a person that I played with in 16 seasons that beat me to the ball every play. It had nothing to do with talent, it was all about effort. Effort was always my separator. It was always between YOU and YOU. No one had to convince me on who I needed to be. I am built from something. Ask yourself, “how much time am I wasting.” Make up your mind to be great. The only thing that follows work is results. Make sure you know the legacy you carry.

Legacy Ego is about attention, humility is about impact. Live a better standard, be worth following and always be humble. You can’t give what you don’t possess. To build a healthy team, become a healthy leader. Remind yourself of your potential and your purpose. Better mindset leads to better actions leads to better impact.
