This is simply a time of assessment, where you let each of your players what you know what you thought about their development and performance of the year. It’s a time where you lay down the foundation for next season. It should be a dialogue because the players need to respectfully speak their minds as well. If both coach and player go in with an open mind, they can walk away better people. Coaches have a different outlook than players. Players see things that coaches don’t see. At the end of these meetings, we have a better recognition of who we are and more importantly who we are not. Here are a few questions below that you may be able to use with your players.
• Where do you see yourself right now?
• What kind of teammate are you?
• What is the best attribute you bring to this team?
• What is your favorite part of this team? Least favorite?
• What was the most challenging part of this season for you?
• How well do you know your position? Yourself?
• How well is communication throughout the team?
• Tell me your story/Write your story

• What 4 teammates would you like to play with if the game was on the line? • What is something we did this year that you think you will remember for the rest of your life? • What is something you accomplished this year that you are proud of? • What was the nicest thing someone on our team did for you this year? • What advice would you give new incoming players? • What is something better myself or coaching staff could have done to make this year better?
